Solid four stars. It's a chain, so if you've been you know. Good location downtown in the thick of things. Few tables inside, as well as outdoors when the weather's nice. I had a great waffle cone with strawberry today. I'm really writing this review for service. It's graduation weekend and downtown Ann Arbor is jam-packed. The guy behind the counter was by himself cause his co-worker bailed and wasn't answering calls. But he still held it together pretty well. He didn't appear rude and angry and tried his best to quickly get everyone's orders. He had to run between making fresh waffle cones, scooping ice cream and running the cash register. It's a great example of customer service in hard conditions!

I love ice cream, especially Ben and Jerry's. Guilty of buying a pint at the grocery store almost weekly. The ice cream here is amazing! They have a lot of options, from the classics to the crazy flavors. I'm quite partial to getting two flavors in the sprinkles and chocolate waffle cone. No better way to eat a full day of calories!

Your standard Ben & Jerry's store. Inside it's a little run down, not quite as spiffy as it started years ago. But let's be real. You're not going for ambiance. You're going for Cherry Garcia and Chunky Monkey. And they've got that along with a couple dozen flavors, fancy cones, toppings, and more (ice cream cakes!). Plus--pints to go! Nope, it ain't fancy but they're open late and they've got the goods. Thumbs up!

This is a bustling area right near the Michigan campus. We do not have a Ben And Jerry's in Canada (we just have the ice cream in Walmart) so I wanted to say I have been to one. Pretty standard ice cream, I like Baskin Robins chocolate Chip Cookie Dough a lot better. I also tried the Pumpkin Cheesecake Ice-cream and it tasted like Pumpkin and not Cheesecake. I am happy I made the stop in to a Ben & Jerry's though.

Ben & Jerry's is of course all over the place but it just never gets old. I love their ice cream cakes, especially the ones with the brownie base. If you give them 24 hours they can make one with the ice cream flavors you wish. The owner is a bit overbearing and he embarrasses his workers all the time which I HATE. I think it's so rude and unprofessional and you just feel awful for the poor college kids who work there. Anyways, which flavors are good and which ones need recipe adjustments? -Cheesecake Brownie: eww! It tastes like molded milk with bits of brownies throughout. I don't think they got the cheesecake taste down. -Milk & Cookies: tastes like cookies and cream alright. -Red Velvet: disgusting. They haven't mastered the red velvet cake taste yet. Just tastes like nasty cake mix--but not red velvet-flavored. -Banana Split: there are chunks of frozen banana and strawberries which are kind of weird but the fudge sauce is yummy and decadent throughout. You really taste the bananas and everything else comes more as an aftertaste. -Chocolate Peppermint Crunch: mmm, it's basically decadent chocolate ice cream with chocolate peppermint crunch balls that burst with flavor. Yum! -New York Super Fudge Chunk: I'm a fan. The walnuts and almonds are delicious and mixed with the white fudge throughout--yum! This has a wonderful crunch, yet creamy texture. -Phish Food: there's something about the marshmallows that just make this heavenly. I'm not a fan of marshmallows but it adds to the creaminess, and the crunchy fish with caramel that bursts out make for an ice cream candy bar mix. -Half-baked: chocolate and vanilla ice cream with cookie dough and fudge brownies. While the brownies are on the dry side, the cookie dough is lovely--very creamy and sugary. -Chocolate Fudge Brownie: I adore the chocolate ice cream this has. It's so creamy and decadent. The brownies are a bit dry but they add a nice contrast to the rich creaminess. FINAL VERDICT: It's a bit over-priced, okay, a lot overpriced, but their ice cream is good--especially in brownie sundae form.

As with their pints of flavors, this location is a hit or miss. I will go here because I am in need of some "Candy Bar Pie" and I haven't been able to find it in grocery stores. Flavors are plentiful but prices are absurd. Pick up a pint in their refrigerator and you could buy two at Kroger for the same price. The interior is a little dingy, and often you can walk to to find the owner harassing an employee like they were father and son, and the son just lost them a big pee-wee football game. Watch out if you walk in here during a busy moment as there tends to be just one lone attendant scrambling to scoop. Ben and Jerry's ice cream is the best, so whatever pitfall there is with this place, I will still return (more often than I should).

Classic Ben and Jerry's with all their delicious flavours, either hand dipped or already put into pints. There is limited seating space, and they're only open to 10ish pm most nights (sorry night owls), but it's a great stop for a date or a treat.

Nothing wrong with the ice cream. It's Ben & Jerry's, some of the best ice cream out there. No problems there. The place is a little scummy. You can tell it's where drunk college kids just go to get ice cream and screw around. The tables aren't really all that clean, and good lord, the chairs are uncomfortable. I'd much rather prefer to get my ice cream and then go eat it somewhere else.

When I have ate Ben and Jerry's in the past, it was always on a pint from the local store. Never was i impressed, then I went to the actual ice cream shop. In the actual shop they have about 20-25 flavors along with the pints and various other things ( very similar to Baskin robins). They also can give you multiple scoops for whatever size cup u order (best flavor is milk and cookies ) and nice size portions. Overall it is not no cold stone but it is in the convo for second best in the area.

I went in yesterday to get a scoop of sorbet. A big thank you to the guy behind the counter who helped me get the lemonade sorbet. It was absolutely delicious :)

The berry sorbet is much tastier than the mango one, so don't waste your time with the latter! I used a gift card and the machine took a minute to process the thing, but all was well in the end.

For a Ben and Jerry's it is pretty good. The staff are always friendly and patient with the ordering process. Good selection of cakes and ice cream in the tubs in the freezer, too. The ice cream is soft and reliably comforting. That being said, it is somewhat filthy. Just look at the tables you're sitting at. No one really wipes up the grime or stray crumbs from the ice cream cones. Four stars because no one cares too much, it's a good place to remind you of carefree summer days as a kid, and we all know those were filled with dirt. Just take the ice cream to go if you care about the filth.

First time... Yes! Hey it isn't my fault there isn't any location closer to where I stay. There were some weird selection but lucky they don't mind give you free sample -- hey I could have gotten full of the sample. :) I tried the "PHISH FOOD"...which was basically chocolate ice cream with chocolate fish shaped pieces inside. (Woo it cost like $4.50 for a small) You be the JUDGE!!!

I like the shakes. :) The blueberry vanilla graham Greek frozen yogurt is really good too!

Pretty standard Ben & Jerry's. The reason I wanted to write a review was because the people working there are always so great and energetic especially if you go in the evenings. They make the whole Ben&Jerry's experience just that much better. Does anyone actually eat those chocolate covered bananas in the display case?

How can you ignore the tasteful bliss of Ben & Jerry's? This isn't grandma and grandpa's ice cream parlor. The flavors are great and unique. Even if you like the basics you can find delicious vanilla or chocolate. However, you really need to explore. Try americone dream in honor of Steven Colbert or any other delicious concoction.

Everyone knows about the ice cream so this review is just about the store and staff. As a former ice-cream store employee (Baskin-Robins) the first I do when sitting foot in any ice cream is the sniff-test (which incidentally is also a good way to pick out a nursing home). Ben & Jerry passes with flying colors as the entire store is fragrant with the smell of freshly made waffle cones. The staff are super friendly and on hand to help with giving out samples. In fact, I was encouraged to sample beyond the 3-4 flavors I already tried. Love the new milk and cookies flavor! And if you join their b-day club, its free cone and $3 off hand-packed pint of ice cream, so enjoy!

I am a big Ben & Jerry's fan, and I wish there were more scoop shops around (especially on Free Cone Day each year). I visited the location in Ann Arbor yesterday for the first time, and it was as wonderful as I had hoped! I had a small cup filled with Coffee Coffee BuzzBuzzBuzz and Heath Bar Crunch, and the scooper was super nice and enthusiastic about Ben & Jerry's products. I'll be back!

It's there. And that's about all I have to say about that.

It's a mediocre but slightly overpriced for ice cream. I would go here if you LOVE a particular flavor of Ben and Jerry's, It's definitely worth a try, but it's a bit of a rip-off.. I personally love the Phish Food flavor. It has: Dark chocolate fish, caramel, and marshmallow fluff. It's delicious! If you're a cookie dough lover: The Half Baked flavor is also great. It is chocolate and vanilla ice cream, with swirls of brownie batter and chocolate chip cookie dough. Lastly- The Cherry Garcia is also pretty good- It is chocolate covered cherries with fudge flakes in vanilla ice cream. Overall, I'd say it's good for a try, but not something I would say, stay home with a pint. It's a better deal.

I feel guilty every time I walk past stucchi's to go here, but I can't get enough ice cream packed with tons of goodies.

I have never eaten here, but this place receives one star simply because they opened up shop directly next to Stucchi's ice cream, an Ann Arbor staple. Not cool Ben and Jerry, not cool.

meh. party of 6 and the bill came out to be over 30 bucks, all for mediocre ice cream.

  • Mae S.

I never thought I would prefer another ice cream to Ben and Jerry's but when they moved next door to Stucchi's I found out: servings are smaller, ice cream is no creamier or tastier, and prices are higher at B&Js. Too bad. Stucchis is always much more crowded, but the counter help is also nicer there. So my long jealousy of my sister who lives in a town that had B&J first was for nothing! (anyway B&J in her town isn't even there any more.)
